Frequently asked questions
By counting vowel groups (matching [aeiouy]+) per word, with a minimum of one and a trailing silent 'e' removed — an approximation, not a dictionary lookup.
60–70 is considered standard and readable by most adults. Above 90 is very easy; below 30 is very difficult.
