How it works

The result is given two ways: as years, months and days, and as totals in days, weeks, hours and minutes. The two dates can be entered in either order. Leap years are handled because the tool counts real calendar days.

With the option off, the tool counts the nights between the dates, which suits hotel stays and deadlines. With it on, both the first and last day count, which suits leave, rentals and events. Only dates are compared: hours are simply days × 24, and time of day is not considered.
