How it works
The tool reads the file’s structure, shows what it found, and writes a new file without the metadata blocks. The image data itself is copied byte for byte, so nothing is recompressed.

Two side effects are worth knowing. Phones often store a photo sideways and rely on an EXIF tag to display it upright; with that tag gone, such a photo can appear rotated. And because the colour profile is removed too, a wide-colour photo may look slightly less vivid. Open the clean copy to check it before you share it. Only JPG and PNG are supported.
