Examples
1920×1080 at 50%
960×540
How it works
Type a percentage in the Scale box and the width and height are worked out from the original size: 50% halves both sides, 200% doubles them. Or type exact pixels and, with Lock ratio on, the other side follows.
| Scale | New size |
|---|---|
| 25% | 480×270 |
| 50% | 960×540 |
| 75% | 1440×810 |
| 150% | 2880×1620 |
Halving the width and height leaves a quarter of the pixels, so the file usually shrinks by much more than half. Scaling above 100% adds no detail: the new pixels are estimated from the old ones, so the result looks softer.

Frequently asked questions
Downscaling is generally clean. Upscaling beyond the original size will look softer because new pixels are interpolated.
Upload the image, type the percentage in the Scale (%) box, for example 50, then click Resize & preview. Width and height are both scaled from the original size.
It usually shrinks by more than half, because 50% scale leaves only a quarter of the pixels. The exact saving depends on the format and the image.
